Return to render….

The previous owners had allowed ivy to grow over much of three sides of the house, while this looked lovely it was slowly getting behind the render and loosening it as well as burrowing into the walls. When we removed it from the house patches of render came away, the worst wall being the north facing one:

Today we pointed the stonework in a couple of these patches to make it weatherproof for the winter. Should have taken a photo before we did the work but eventually the whole side of the house should look like the lower part of this picture!

It still needs brushing off to make the stones stand out but it is much nicer to look at than the render!
