Drained

When we had the roof replaced (3 years ago, doesn’t time fly) we made the revolutionary step of having gutters put around the roof. These came down 2 downpipes and just emptied on the ground. When the pool was installed we added drainage to one of the downpipes (into the pond) but the other was still draining onto the ground (and therefore into the cave). So with the digger in my hands for a few hours this was one job that was on the list and we quickly dug the trenches and then laid the pipes a couple of days later.

The pipe at the back is the air vent to the fosse, had to be careful not to damage the fosse pipes when digging!

This drain inlet sits in the middle of nowhere for now, eventually it will capture rain from the drive!

It will be interesting to see how much drier the cave will be now.
