New electricity supply

Not sure if I have mentioned it before but the hamlet got together (all three households) and complained about the electricity supply. Our Dutch neighbour’s new kiln couldn’t get up to temperature as the voltage dropped to about 180 volts when it was switched on. Turns out that we were at the end of a very long spur and not up to the regulations. So EDF agreed to put a new feed into the hamlet from a different direction and the big advantage is that it is coming underground to the house and the overhead cables across the back garden will be removed!

The cables down to the edge of the property and then to the house have been installed, but not yet connected.

This work is free to us, but the cost to EDF is 110,000 euros!
