Fête des Mères

May 25th was French Mother’s Day! We weren’t aware of this fact when we travelled down to Objat for the regular Sunday market but on the way we spotted a poster:

Regular readers will have seen Objat market featured before and this time they were giving away 2000 roses to Mothers who visited the market.

Even those who didn’t look old enough to be a Mother (am after bonus points here) were given a rose:

The flower stalls had wonderful roses for sale and the prices seemed reasonable. However we didn’t go to buy flowers we went to look at the fruits and vegetables on sale and enjoy the smell they give off, we weren’t disappointed and returned with a good selection including large cherries at 6 euros a kilo.
