Pool progress…

With only 2 days left until we depart the pool people turned up to backfill the earth and to fit some bits in the pump house. Of course the digger people had not remembered the need for additional drainage around the pool so this caused a bit of a delay. This ‘idle’ time was  usefully used by getting the digger driver to help me install the drains for the house gutters and to link them in with the drain from the cellar and then pipe it all over to the pond! This should help with the sometimes low water levels in the pond as well as keep the cellar a bit drier.

After much discussion on the drains around the pool work eventually got underway:

Not all the backfilling was done today (due to the delayed start) but it is certainly starting to look good. If it doesn’t rain too much tonight it should be completed tomorrow.
