a walk in the woods
The Dutch neighbours own a large area of woodland running down to the river at the bottom of the valley. A walk in these woods is a wonderful way of passing an hour. A word of caution: do wear good shoes, the path is a little steep in places. We were told that if you sit patiently by the river, there is a good chance of seeing kingfishers.

It's a great walk down, not so keen on the walk back up though!

Yes, after the climb back up the hill our legs were letting us know we'd been for a walk!
We didn't see the mill wheel. This sounds like an excuse to do it again.
The path...
... is a lot steeper than it looks in that photo! I hope the chestnut harvest will be good - lots of trees on that walk.
